Support Effective & Preventative Healthcare for All Australian Children
Please support Mindd Foundation and its programs that have helped thousands of children lead healthier and happier lives.
Importantly the Integrative healthcare that Mindd promotes and that helps so many children is a vital step towards disease prevention and the protection of human DNA. The emerging field of Epigenetics is proving that the right diet, environment and lifestyle decisions are critical for the protection of future generations.
Now more than ever, Australian children need our help as they struggle with a range of interrelated neurobiological illness driven by poor nutrition and an overload of toxins. Our children are literally starving for nutrients.
- Allergies affect 1 in 3 Australian children, Asthma 1 in 4, ADHD 1 in 10 and Autism at least 1 in 160.
- Cancer, diabetes, obesity and depression have more than doubled over the past 2 decades.*
- Wide-spread zinc, iodine and Omega 3 deficiencies also adversely impact on IQ and immunity.
- Digestive & metabolic disorders have driven an epidemic in malabsorption and malnutrition.
Mindd Foundation provides families with cutting-edge research and crucial information helping them source accessible healthcare options. By educating carers and training health professionals, Mindd is fast-tracking effective treatments that aid in mental and physical development, especially during critical neuro-developmental periods.
Community commitment has made a difference in the lives of thousands of Australian children by enabling Mindd to train professionals and educate families through 45 seminars, 4 International conferences, books, website, PR and word of mouth.
Continued support will help us;
- Launch a new, world-class website offering cutting-edge research and news, support services, blogs, recipes, glossary of conditions and treatments, information videos, webinars and much more
- Run training programs for practitioners across Australia
- Hold an annual Mindd International Forum on Children in different cities each year, hosting international experts who can train Australian professionals in cutting-edge Integrative healthcare
- Develop community-based teams of health professionals who can provide early intervention and effective healthcare for optimal mental and physical development
- Run numerous seminars for families throughout Australia focusing on diet, nutrition and lifestyle choices that aid in preventing and treating disease
- Build an Integrative Healthcare Centre for Treatment, Education and Research that can serve as a model for countries around the world
Recently Mindd Foundation organised for Professor Kerryn Phelps to appear on Sunrise alongside a child who had recovered from Autism, thanks to an Integrative Healthcare approach. She had this to say;
Consider trialing “a child on a gluten-free, dairy-free diet for a month to see if it makes a difference to them, to seek advice about appropriate supplements like probioitics, fish oil (Omega 3), zinc, magnesium and so forth, to get the right doses for the right child. “
As newly appointed President of the Australasian Integrative Medicine Association, Professor Phelps is working to convince colleagues of the importance of Nutritional Medicine.
Each week Mindd gets phone calls from dozens of parents unable to find a trained Integrative Practitioner in their area. The lack of trained health professionals is a real crisis that Mindd is helping to address through its practitioner education and training programs.
Over the past five years Mindd Foundation has worked with many Australian children finding effective treatments which in some cases are virtually life-saving. Here are some of their stories (with some names changed):
Autism
7 year old Jade was diagnosed with regressive Autism at the age of 2 years and 9 months. She declined from a healthy 2 year old to a non-verbal toddler with classic signs of Autism such as hand-flapping, chest-patting, toe-walking and no eye contact. Through a specialist approach that focused on Nutritional Medicine, Jade is now a happy and healthy Year 2 student in a mainstream school. Jade’s mum had this to say “The information and knowledge that we have gained through the Mindd Foundation empowered us with the confidence and the skills to recover our beautiful girl”.
ADHD
10 year-old John struggled in school for years. His school recommended a psychiatrist who diagnosed ADHD and recommended a psychostimulant. Within a week of taking the medication, John became suicidal. Through Mindd Foundation, John’s mum found a doctor specialising in Nutritional Medicine who advised dietary changes and therapeutic doses of zinc, magnesium, B6 and other nutrients tailored to John’s needs. Within two weeks his suicidal thoughts had subsided and within a year the ADHD symptoms had all but disappeared. John is now a high functioning, drug free teenager.
Allergies
Eight year-old Bryan was diagnosed with ADHD and learning delay. Medication was recommended. Bryan’s parents sought advice from a doctor specialising in Nutritional Medicine who diagnosed intestinal permeability, dysbiosis, food allergies and intolerances. By eliminating offending foods (including some fruits) and healing the digestive tract, Bryan’s “ADHD” disappeared. Bryan’s allergies and food sensitivities had been misdiagnosed as ADHD.
