Children are Australia's most precious resource.
Alarmingly, this resource is facing the most threatening disease epidemic in history.
Today allergies affect 1 in 3 Australian children, Asthma 1 in 4, ADHD 1 in 10 and Autism at least 1 in 160. Cancer, diabetes, obesity and depression have each well more than doubled over the past 2 decades.*
Mindd Foundation needs your help in bringing effective treatment and prevention to the thousands of Australian children struggling with a range of disease that share common overlapping Metabolic, Immunologic, Neurologic, Digestive and Developmental conditions that often affect the mind (hence Mindd).
Emerging research indicates that seemingly unrelated childhood conditions are being driven by toxicity (from food and the environment) combined with poor nutrition that compromises the child’s ability to detox. Allergies, asthma, ADHD, anxiety, autism, learning delay, depression, obesity, diabetes, digestive and mood disorders often share underlying issues of nutritional deficiencies, toxicity, infections and/or a dysfunctional digestive system. The result is inflammation and oxidative stress (rusting of the body) triggered by an immune system that is unable to handle stresses it did not evolve to handle.
The good news is that there are effective Integrative healthcare treatments available to treat and prevent these conditions. Best outcomes lie in teams of trained Integrative professionals and educated parents who can implement biomedicine & diet as well as muscular-skeletal, energy, neuro-developmental and behavioural therapies.
7 year old Jade Bohan was diagnosed with regressive Autism at the age of 2 years and 9 months. She declined from a healthy 2 year old who had reached all her milestones to a non-verbal toddler with classic signs of Autism such as hand-flapping, chest-patting, toe walking and no eye contact. Through an Integrative approach that focused on Biomedicine & diet, followed by a range of behavioural and neuro therapies, Jade is now a happy and healthy Year 2 student in a mainstream school.
Jade is just one of thousands of Australian children whose lives have turned around with the help of a team of Integrative health professionals. Her mum, Chris Bohan, has this to say – “The information and knowledge that we have gained through the Mindd Foundation empowered us with the confidence and the skills to recover our beautiful girl.”
The Mindd website features Jade’s story and many more Recovery Stories. We urge you to have a look at how important an Integrative approach is, especially in brain development.
In 2010, Mindd Foundation plans to continue training practitioners, educating families and raising awareness across Australia with our Regional Seminars run by local Mindd Chapter Leaders (parents and practitioners) who are networking with councils, schools, businesses and media. Other initiatives for 2010 include the launch of a new website to provide world class information combined with local directories; a 1-800 phone service to support families and practitioners; a seminar on Oxidative Stress and Nutragenomics (how nutrition effects genes) by world experts Michael Fenech, PhD (CSIRO) and Jill James PhD.
Mindd continues our strong partnership with the US-based Autism Research Institute to ensure that important research is fast-tracked to Australian families and practitioners. And our accreditation with the Royal College of General Practitioners enables us to spread this information to Australian professionals.
The Mindd International Forum On Children will return to Australia and New Zealand in 2011 featuring Defeat Autism Now! training and a range of lectures in Biomedicine & diet as well as allied, neuro and behavioural therapies.
Mindd Foundation has made important contributions to the health of Australian and New Zealand children over the past 5 years with 4 International Forums, 45 seminars, Mindd TV, media stories, book sales and online information services.
Your contribution can help us continue to help thousands of Australian children lead healthy and happy lives.
By helping Mindd, you are helping Australia's children and the country's future.
Health & Happiness!
