Reconnect with Victorian food producers and farmers direct at the Bentleigh Farmers Market, proudly managed by the East Bentleigh Primary School/Parent Committee. The market is held on the school oval, once a market garden site, and it is our vision for it to come alive again as a vibrant monthly family/community farm fresh produce market with 55/65 stallholders. This project, in conjunction with the introduction of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen program some years ago, embraces the schools philosophy of creating a nurturing environment for the students to learn and grow. It includes a guide to healthy eating and the importance of sustainable farming practises. Entry is by $2 donation with funds collected to be directed to the school garden program. We are plastic bag free so BYO trolley, basket and bags.
