Matthew Bourke

Dr Matthew Bourke is the founder and director of Optimum Health Essentials Pty Ltd. Matthew specialises in Applied Kinesiology, Neuro Emotional Technique, Neurolinguistic Programming (Master Practitioner), Positive Psychology, Peak Performance, Functional Biochemistry and Breath Enhancement Training. He has worked in Europe and Australia and studied Vedic philosophy and meditation in India. Matthew has been a member of the Mindd Foundation Scientific Advisory Board since 2009.

Professor Michael Fenech
Adjunct Professor, University of South Australia CSIRO Food and Nutritional Sciences.
Dr Michael Fenech is renowned internationally for his research in nutrition and genetic toxicology and for developing the cytokinesis-block micronucleus (CBMN) assay which is a gold standard method used internationally to measure DNA damage in human cells. His key goal is to determine the nutritional requirements for DNA damage prevention. He was awarded the Flinders University’s Convocation Medal in 2007, the Alexander Hollaender Award (USA) in 2008 and the honorary title of Adjunct Professor (University of South Australia) in 2009 for his leadership/contributions to environmental/public health sciences internationally. His publications have been cited 6,500 times (917 times in 2008, 890 times in 2009) and his H-index is 41.

Dr Frank Golik
MBBS (Hons Qld) FRACGP, graduated from the University of Queensland with 2nd class Hons in 1975; 2 years as junior RMO at Royal Brisbane Hospital; 1 year as Senior RMO at Atherton Hospital, Nth Qld. He commenced in solo Private Family Practice in Clayfield, Brisbane in 1979. He later formed a multi-disciplinary clinic in Clayfield some 11 years ago. Dr Golik gained his fellowship in the RACGP in 1982; and is a member and occasional lecturer of the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine. His special areas of interest and passion are Autism, ADD/ADHD/ASD, Musculoskeletal medicine, Dietary and lifestyle therapy, Thyroid conditions, Chelation therapy and the Metabolic Syndrome. Biomesotherapy forms a significant part of the therapeutic approach of his Clinic. He has attended the Bill Walsh Outreach/Training since 2005 and has attended the MINDD conferences since 2005.

Dr Martha Herbert, PhD
Asst Professor Neurology, Harvard Medical School, Director TRANSCEND Research Program.
Dr. Martha Herbert, author of The Autism Revolution, is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School, a Paediatric Neurologist with subspecialty certification in Neurodevelopment Disabilities at the Massachusetts General Hospital, a Principal Investigator and an affiliate of the HST-MGH Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging. She is director of the TRANSCEND* research program, a multimodal brain imaging and biomarker research program. Her background in paediatric neurology, evolutionary biology and history of science has influenced her orientation toward systems biology, brain connectivity and brain-body interrelationships. Her research program includes studying what makes some autistic brains unusually large, how the parts of the brain are connected and coordinated with each other, and how we can develop measures sensitive to changes in brain and body function that could result from treatment interventions. She ran the first study of the emergence of medical and brain symptoms in young infants at high risk for autism, and is building a research platform for studying the relationship of brain metabolism to brain signalling abnormalities.

S. Jill James, PhD
S. Jill James, PhD is a nutritional biochemist who has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers. She has over 20 year’s research experience in abnormal folate metabolism and disease susceptibility. Her research has focused on defining gene-nutrient interactions that increase susceptibility to cancer, Down Syndrome and most recently, Autism. Dr. James was a Professor in the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Director of the Biochemical Genetics Laboratory at the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Research Institute for many years. She received her B.S. degree Phi Beta Kappa from Mills College, and her Ph.D. degree in Nutritional Biochemistry from UCLA.

Dr Leila Masson M.D.
MPH, FRACP, FAAP, DTMH, IBCLC
Leila Masson is an integrative Paediatrician who combines Allopathic Medicine with a nutritional and biomedical approach to help her patients attain optimal health. She received her medical doctorate from the University of Berlin, did her paediatric specialist training at the University of California at San Francisco. She received her Masters in Public Health from Harvard University and her Diploma in Tropical Medicine from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Leila has worked in the US and Europe and volunteered for 2 years setting up a clinic in Pakistan, before moving to New Zealand, where she has lived and worked for the last 12 years. Leila has a busy practice in Auckland, specializing in a holistic approach to children’s health problems, including allergies, asthma, behaviour problems, autism spectrum disorders and ADHD. Dr Masson is a member of the Mindd Scientific Advisory Board

Dr Elizabeth Mumper, M.D.
MAPS Faculty
Dr. Mumper is President and CEO of The RIMLAND Center. Her general pediatrics practice is Advocates for Children. Advocates for Families is her practice devoted to the care of children with autism and other neurodevelopmental problems. She graduated magna cum laude from Bridgewater College with a degree in General Science. She attended the Medical College of Virginia, did residency training at the University of Massachusetts and University of Virginia, and was invited to serve as Chief Resident of Pediatrics at UVA. Dr. Mumper has written book chapters about allergy, immunology and behavioral and developmental pediatrics published in the book “Pediatrics” published by Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins.. During the past five years, she has conducted clinical research at the Rimland Center and published five peer reviewed articles in the medical literature.

Dr Nancy O'Hara

Dr. Nancy O’Hara is a board-certified pediatrician. She was the Assistant Medical Director for Defeat Autism Now! Physician Training and the Physician Mentoring Director for Defeat Autism Now! in Europe. She is now a partner at the Center for Integrative Health. Prior to her medical career, Dr. O’Hara taught children with autism. She graduated magna cum laude from Bryn Mawr College and as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society from the University of Pennsylvania School Of Medicine. She earned a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh. After residency, chief residency and general pediatric fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. O’ Hara was in private practice for seven years. Since 1999, she has dedicated her practice to the integrative and holistic care of children with neurodevelopmental disorders and autistic spectrum disorders.

Chris Shade, PhD

Dr. Shade is an Environmental Chemist and founder and CEO of Quick Silver Scientific. He is a globally recognized expert on mercury and liposomal delivery systems. He has lectured and trained doctors in the U.S. and internationally on the subject of mercury, heavy metals and the human detoxification system. Dr. Shade developed the patented liquid chromatographic mercury speciation technology used at Quicksilver Scientific while conducting his Ph.D. dissertation work with advisor Robert Hudson at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr Maya Shetreat-Klein

Maya Shetreat-Klein, MD is a neurologist, herbalist, urban farmer, and author of The Dirt Cure: Healthy Food, Healthy Gut, Happy Child (Simon and Schuster, 2016), which has been translated into ten languages. She has been featured in the New York Times, The Telegraph, NPR, Sky News, The Dr. Oz Show and many more. Board certified in adult and child neurology as well as pediatrics, Dr. Maya completed the University of Arizona’s Fellowship in Integrative Medicine, and now serves on their faculty. She works and studies with indigenous communities and healers in Ecuador. In her book and her practice, she offers an integrative and spiritual approach to allow moving beyond chronic health problems in children and adults. She also founded the Terrain Institute, where she teaches Terrain Medicine™, an earth-based program for transformational healing.

Dr Brandon Brock

Dr. Brandon Brock is a Certified Chiropractor, Family Nurse Practitioner and a functional neurology diplomate with multiple clinical interests, including functional integrative neurology, nutrition, wellness and general medicine. In Dallas Texas he serves as a staff clinician at Cerebrum Health Centers and does work at Innovative Health and Wellness Group and Foundation Physicians Group. Along with being a clinician, Dr. Brock has a passion for lecturing and providing learners with didactic and academic skills in a way that is easy to digest, comprehend and utilize in a clinical setting. He has developed thousands of multidisciplinary hours of curriculum pertaining to neurology, nutrition, physical diagnosis, pharmacology, immunology, endocrinology, and this has impacted students of multiple educational and clinical backgrounds, including medical doctors, nurse practitioners, chiropractors and everything in between.

Dr Elisa Song

Dr Elisa song is a board-certified, Stanford -, NYU-, UCSF-trained holistic pediatrician. She founded Whole Family Wellness (formerly Whole Child Wellness), an integrative pediatric practice in Belmont, CA – one of the first and most highly regarded holistic pediatric practices in the country. Dr Song created Healthy Kids Happy Kids – dedicated to empowering parents to take charge of their kids’ health … naturally! Dr Song is a holistic pediatrician, integrating conventional pediatrics with functional medicine, holistic nutrition, homeopathy, acupuncture, herbal medicine, and essential oils. She is also a lecturer for the Center for Education and Development in Clinical Homeopathy (CEDH), Academy for Pain Research, Institute for Functional Medicine, and Holistic Pediatric Association, among others.

Leah Hechtman, ND
Leah Hechtman is Director of The Natural Health and Fertility Centre, Sydney and has been in practice for over 20 years. Dr Christabelle Yeoh
MBBS, MRCP (London), MSc (Nutrition)
Dr Christabelle Yeoh has over 2 decades of experience in clinical care, most of which has focused on understanding root causes of chronic disease. She works with her patients to optimise their biophysical health, mitochondrial health, digestive function microbiome and brain performance. She is passionate about sharing her in-depth knowledge on the interconnectedness of human metabolism, biology and behaviour. She helps address the chronic conditions that can be related to adverse factors in her patient’s lifestyle, nutrition and environment to help optimise their overall function and wellbeing.
Dr Yeoh graduated from medicine at the University of London in 1999 and obtained her membership with the Royal College of Physicians (UK). She has a Masters degree in Nutrition from King’s College London. After practicing hospital medicine, she worked as a general physician with an interest in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine. She was a director and past president at the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM) and is active on the teaching faculty.

Dr Charlie Teo
AM, Neurosurgeon
Professor Charlie Teo was, and remains, instrumental in the development, dissemination and acceptance of the concept of keyhole minimally invasive techniques in neurosurgery. He runs a fellowship program that attracts over 600 applicants yearly and has trained many of the world’s leading figures in neurosurgery at distinguished centres such as the Karolinska and Barrow Neurological Institutes and Johns Hopkins, Yale, Duke, Stanford, Vanderbilt and Harvard Universities. He is recognised as a global neurosurgeon who has had academic appointments in Australia, Singapore, USA, South America, Vietnam, Europe and India. Dr Teo has over 170 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has authored two books on keyhole approaches to brain tumours and is a guest editor for several journals.
Prof. Teo strongly believes that a surgeon’s responsibility to his patients does not end after surgery. In keeping with his desire to find treatments and a cure for brain cancer he has raised over $52 million that has been used to fund research scientists both in Australia and abroad. He has done this through the Cure for Life Foundation, the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation (Charity of the Year 2016) and currently the Charlie Teo Foundation.
Charlie dedicates 3 months every year to pro bono work in developing countries, for which he has been recognised with awards from Rotary International, including the Paul Harris Fellowship (for contribution to World Health), and as a finalist in the NSW Australian of the Year awards in 2003 and 2009.
In the 2011 Australia Day awards he was named as a Member of the Order of Australia (for contribution to the development of minimally invasive neurosurgery). In 2012 he was invited to give the Australia Day Address to the Nation and in 2013 was honoured to be the first non-politician Australian to address the US Congress on the need for more funding for brain cancer research. His profile in Australia is such that for 7 consecutive years Professor Teo was voted Australia's Most Trusted Person.
